that&#039;s right, the GPS data is automatically embedded into the EXIF data of the image (can be turned off) --- but unfortunately, when you use third party camera apps, no EXIF data at all is added to the images. I think it&#039;s an (intentional?) limitation of the relevant APIs...

Now that&#039;s a bit of shame, because EXIF data is nice to have, and there are much better camera apps than the standard one. For instance &quot;Camera Genuis&quot;, which adds features like timer delay, (digital) zoom, bigger release button (the normal one is quite small and hard to hit when you take extended-arm self portraits), burst shooting, and by far the most useful: Image stabilisation (quite clever, using the accelerometers it takes the picture when you are shaking the least, which works surprisingly well!!).</description>

		<description>Can the iPhone add location information automatically to the EXIF data when you take photos? I guess between WiFi and 3G it should have a pretty good idea where you are, as demonstrated by some of the mapping apps.</description>
